Concept Summary
The "Elevator to Success" was structured into two projection categories: camera rig design and visual effects. Finding inspiration from The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, audiences felt immersed in a 180° spectacle that situates them into an elevator that transports them to each scene that discusses the theme of success.
Technical Considerations
This 4-week long project required careful timing of each stage.
-
Project rendered game engine graphics at human scale to 6 projectors
-
Connect lighting, projections and audio through OSC
-
Incorporate a pipeline that allows for easy refinements
Unity Camera Rig
I built a human-scaled camera rig inside the Unity game engine while working as the Assistant Technical Director at Swain Hall's Black Box Theatre. LiDAR scanning provided accurate measurements of the theater space to load into Unity.
